He is looking forward to the

chance of studying things in England and I hope that

you will be able to put him on to the right people

without difficulty.

Before this idea came along I had proposed

that he should continue to assist on the note

issue business and with that in view he had

intended to have a look at the Bank of England

system of issue, cancellation etc. so as to know

how the thing should be done in case we either

have to have a Government issue or want to indulge

in a little interference in the management of the

Bank issues. In view of this latest departure

he will probably not be available for that

particular work but if he cares to spare the time

it might well be useful for him to have a look

at the Bank of England and you might discuss that

with him.
